NEW THIS MONDAY: TWO ON MALARIA IN AFRICA

Sunday, 22nd of September 2013 Print
  • TWO ON MALARIA IN AFRICA

Dear All,

Two original contributions:

  • A review of IPTp and LLIN protection of pregnancies in Africa finds that (with a few exceptions like Liberia and Zambia) “Although coverage of intermittent preventive treatment and use of insecticide-treated nets by pregnant women has increased in most countries, coverage remains far below international targets, despite fairly high rates of attendance at antenatal clinics.” Is it possible that ANC clinics function today as they did 20 and 30 years ago, with no promotion of LLINs and IPTp?

Good reading.
