FIVE ITEMS ON MEASLES VACCINATION RESPONSE IN HIV INFECTED AND UNINFECTED CHILDREN

W.H.O. current policy is to give an initial dose of measles containing vaccine at six months of age to HIV seropositives. This important series of articles on vaccine response and vaccine safety in seronegative children (including some exposed to the virus) and seropositives should be seen in the light of that recommendation. The geographical interest is largely for Africa, but note as well the article from the US, where some children are born to mothers infected from use of intravenously administered drugs.
