UPDATES ON MALE CIRCUMCISION

Since the publication of three RCTs showing lower risk of HIV acquisition among African males, many countries have begun to promote MC. I passed a billboard in Harare last week showing soccer players preparing for a penalty kick. "Male circumcision, your defense against HIV." A billboard in Swaziland shows a smiling youth saying "Get yourself circumcised and reap the benefits."

In the updates at www.malecircumcision.org there are country reports from Kenya and Uganda; one article reviews the evidence on reduced risk of cervical cancer in partners of circumcised men.
