CSU 105/2011: MALARIA RESEARCH SERIES

Saturday, 26th of March 2011 Print
The first global campaign against malaria, from 1955 to 1969, was characterized by a set of assumptions on how best to fight malaria, based on chloroquine for prophylaxis and treatment and IRS for vector control, and a lack of humility about the correctness of those assumptions.

The current campaign against malaria is characterized by a healthy uncertainty about what works best, and which method is the best bang for the buck.

Here is an issue of the Public Library of Medicine devoted to malaria research.

Good reading.
