“With stagnating global coverage, improvements in immunization delivery services would ensure that all children are protected from vaccine-preventable diseases. Adequate vaccine stock management is a critical component to ensuring vaccine access, and strategies that allow vaccination administration beyond infancy can help create a “safety net” to improve coverage following services interruptions. Additionally, countries that established health-care visits in the second year of life have an opportunity to work more broadly towards a life-course vaccination strategy, whereby individuals are protected from infancy to adulthood through reinforcement of important vaccine and health messages.”
