Progress towards poliomyelitis eradication: Afghanistan, January 2015-August 2016

Despite recent progress, Afghanistan faces significant constraints in its quest to eliminate WPV circulation by the end of the year, notably inaccessibility and attendant gaps in population immunity. To address these challenges, priority must be given to ensuring timely implementation of all elements of the updated National Emergency Action Plan.
